The Somme river

The Somme river, from the latin word “Samara”, meaning “quiet river” looks like a green, lush ribbon of life landlocked amidst vast agricultural plains, where trees are scarce.
The Somme is indeed a calm and quaint place where thousands of bird thrive on the banks of a river, on its water that seems almost still, where time seems to stop. Each morning, there’s a chance to witness nature’s show, when a thick curtain of mist slowly unveils the beautiful valley, birds whose sounds are coming from everywhere. It truly is an experience.
