Harnessing the wind, befriending the waves

On that bright, sunny saturday afternoon, I met this group of beachgoers, coming from the surroundings, even from Paris for some, to meet with the waves and the sea in a very particular manner. I saw them hastily taking their gear and insulating suits out of their cars to get ready, ecstatic of this unique and thrilling experience waiting for them. What they do is called kite-surfing while some prefer the “wing”, the little brother of kite surfing, a newer practice. After unpacking everything, tieing the many strings and wearing the gear, they started flying the sail up in the air to make sure everything was set up correctly. Finally, they started walking to the sea, proudly facing the winds and soon braving the waves, the cold waves of march in that case, to make one with the elements and slide on the sea surface, sometimes struggling agaisnt the winds but steering in the right direction by taking advantage of them
